Facebook beats Orkut in India

Orkut, the social networking site of Google is popular in India and Brazil only. Now Orkut lost its domination in India also. As per the report of Comscore-(A leading web market analyzing company). With 20.9 million visitors Facebook snatched the number one social network position from Orkut in India. Facebook achieved this position with 179% increase of traffic within one year. It is a great achievement for Facebook because now India ranks the seventh largest market worldwide for social networking, after the U.S., China, Germany, Russian Federation, Brazil and the U.K.  Growing broadband penetration and 3G syndrome can skyrocket the figures shortly.
Flexible website integration options and the concept of Fan pages make Facebook the favorite of webmasters. One of the main complaints against Orkut is its amateur look. Understanding the same, Orkut has done some recent polishes but which couldn’t create a buzz across social network world. Orkut changed Scrap settings also to improve privacy and security.
